Since the mid 70s Liberals have been slowly changing what it once meant to be American

A long, slow, careful process

COMMENTARY
For those of you who weren't alive in the mid 70s early 80s; a popular Liberal strategy developed then, and is still in use today, was/is to get something declared a "Constitutional right" by the courts (even if it isn't) and then for those who can't afford to take advantage of their new-found "right" get the government (federal usually) to pay for it. Examples are; the right to food gave us food stamps and WIC, the right to housing gave us Section-8 Housing and Federal housing ghettos, babies with no father you're covered, and now "free" (ha, ha, ha) healthcare. And, those are just the three biggies off the top of my head.

You notice how providing these alleged "rights" free to your average American citizen poses no physical threat to the elected. On the contrary, it makes them beholding and easy votes during re-election.

However, we all have a Constitutional right to "bear arms" (ie. own weapons) actually stated in the Constitution, unlike the other court-declared rights. So following the Liberal logic (there's an oxymoron) if you're too poor to buy a cheap gun shouldn't there be a federal program to cover that?

No, because that weapon would allow you to protect yourself and family against evil-doers and a corrupt government. You might even begin to think you are actually in charge of you and your family's lives and safety. And, they can't have that. That's the government's job.

And, if you support weaning "the poor" off the government tit by helping and expecting them to become self-reliant; or propose helping the truly needy, but with a time limit; you're a heartless, no good, SOB who doesn't care.

In Washington if a new budget proposes an 8% increase in any program or department's budget and the counter-proposal is to raise it only 4%, that's considered a "cut." Even if actual spending the previous year went up by only 2%, it's still a cut to a Liberal. They just fail to tell you it's a cut from what they want, not a cut in actual spending. And, if it's somehow related to helping the "poor" you're just a heartless, racist, sexist, bigoted SOB. And, the definition of "poor" keeps expanding.

As I'm writing this a sign appeared on my Facebook page that says, "WELFARE WAS NEVER INTENDED TO BE A CAREER OPPORTUNITY." That pretty much says it all.

So, as you watch and listen to the on-going budget debates remember, Washington politicians don't speak English as we know it. To Liberals, not getting the increase they want is a cut; to Conservatives it's slowing the growth of the budget. To Conservatives, expecting people to stand on their own two feet and not need government support is compassion; to Liberals that's cruel and unusual punishment.

Chinese call President Obama "Traitor" to U.S.

During an interview with WHDN's (Boston) Gary Franchi, world-renowned educator and human rights activist Jim Garrow said the Chinese people consider President Obama a "traitor" to the United States even though he is bringing the U.S. closer to Communism. See that portion of the interview here.

The comment came after Garrow related a conversation he had with a former senior military official who said to remain a top officer you must state you are willing to fire on American citizens in this country. You may see the entire interview here.

Garrow is the founder of the Bethune Institute, which has established hundreds of schools throughout China. Three years ago, he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work through a group called Pink Pagoda, which rescues baby girls in China who had been abandoned or targeted for infanticide because of the government's one-child policy. He was personally involved in helping to save the lives of more than 50,000 Chinese girls.

Gary Franchi is with WHDT World News, Boston. The entire interview can be seen on NextNewsNetwork through You Tube.

MSN.com fact-checks State of the Union Address

MSN.com has done a fact-check on President Barack Obama's 2013 State of the Union address. Using a combination of fact-twisting and memory loss Obama painted a "rosy" picture of the country's current state of affairs.

According to MSN News some of the statements made by the President that aren't quite factually accurate include:

""The president claimed that "both parties have worked together to reduce the deficit by more than $2.5 trillion." But that's only an estimate of deficit reduction through fiscal year 2022, and it would be lower if the White House used a different starting point.

"" "Obama touted the growth of 500,000 manufacturing jobs over the past three years, but there has been a net loss of 600,000 manufacturing jobs since he took office. The recent growth also has stalled since July 2012."

""He claimed that "we have doubled the distance our cars will go on a gallon of gas." Actual mileage is improving, but Obama's "doubled" claim refers to a desired miles-per-gallon average for model year 2025.

"" "Obama said the Affordable Care Act "is helping to slow the growth of health care costs." It may be helping, but the slower growth for health care spending began in 2009, before the law was enacted, and is due at least partly to the down economy.

"" "The president also made an exaggerated claim of bipartisanship. He said that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney agreed with him that the minimum wage should be tied to the cost of living. But Romney backed off that view during the campaign.

" For a more detailed analysis of the State of the Union speech go to MSN.com.

Obama EPA ignores court ruling

by My E-News
The Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today issued new output goals for the biofuels industry, despite a recent court ruling which threw out the EPA's 2012 mandate. The ruling last week by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia said the 2012 mandate for cellulosic biofuels was based on wishful thinking rather than accurate estimates.

The Obama administration wants to encourage the use of biofuels to help lower greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global warming, as well as lower U.S. dependence on foreign fuel. Despite, the EPA's projections for millions of gallons of biofuels made from switchgrass, corn husks or wood pulp there's been essentially zero production. According to final EPA estimates, no cellulosic fuel was produced in 2010 or 2011. Only about 25,000 gallons was produced last year.

This isn't the first time the Obama administration has ignored a court ruling. After the April, 2010 explosion and oil spill from the British Petroleum oil rig Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico, a third oil-drilling moratorium was established by the Obama administration after the first two were thrown out of court; creating a de facto Gulf Coast offshore drilling ban in opposition to two judges’ rulings.
